Two Great Sessions of People’s College ONLINE this week!

Feeling isolated and missing your community? Let’s Keep Building our Community Power even when we’re stuck at home! Two great sessions this week:
Due to some scheduling adjustments, the PROTEST 101 class that was originally set for Saturday will now take place MONDAY MARCH 30TH at 6pm on facebook live. You can link to the event here!

And TUESDAY, MARCH 31 at 6pm, we have another great session. “Did I say that?” Will focus on Implicit Bias, Assumptions, Stereotypes, Oppressive Language, Avoiding Responsibility and Impact.
In order to authentically move in Frontline communities that are impacted by Environmental and Climate injustices, we have to understand that we have to move in a holistic way because social, economic and ecological issues are interconnected and interdependent. The problems are interrelated, and so are the solutions. As organizers, to be allies we must identify, unpack systems of oppression, analyze the narratives that help to legitimize and hold these institutions in place. Avoiding discussions around cultural & Racial differences are the single most critical barrier to building effective teams, coalitions, and movements for social change. In order to do that we must commit to create and promote an anti-racist culture in our organizations and the Climate Justice movement.
This class will be held on zoom and you can get the login info on the event page here!
